About the Role

Our team is hiring a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to help build the future for our company. As part of the Platform team, you will work across the entire development lifecycle, from idea to deployment. This fully remote role will be responsible for developing and maintaining our cloud infrastructure, security, and CI/CD pipelines. You will be working closely with our vCISO to implement security best practices.

We are looking for someone with a deep understanding of security best practices and real-world experience implementing security processes through CI/CD. Your role will involve providing security implementations in line with HIPAA, GDPR, and NIST guidelines. You will play a key role in ensuring that software is thoroughly tested in environments that closely mirror production. We are looking for a passionate engineer who stays up-to-date with the latest software development methodologies, security knowledge, and best practices. Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure to support business needs.
  • Identify, monitor, and resolve security vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure compliance through configuration as code.
  • Possess an understanding of change management processes, including documenting changes in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Familiarity with designing and implementing disaster recovery plans and conducting regular backups and restore testing.
  • Knowledge of Compliance Automation Tools and how to triage and remediate findings.
  • Support CI/CD workflows and design multipurpose tools for use across the organization.
  • Collaborate with research, development, and bioinformatics teams to understand their workloads and design software and services to support them.
  • Work closely with collaborators to integrate their systems with ours through software solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews and testing to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 4+ years of engineering experience
  • Deep knowledge of AWS, GCP, and hands-on experience with cloud computing infrastructure
  • Ability to implement HIPAA, GDPR, and NIST 800 171 regulations; experience working with clinical regulated data workflows
  • Experience with tools like AWS Config, HashiCorp Sentinel, or other compliance-as-code solutions to automate security and compliance checks
  • Experience with platforms like Drata, Vanta, Secureframe, or Sprinto to automate audit readiness and streamline security compliance processes
  • Understanding of SIEM tools like Splunk or AWS Security Hub for threat detection and regulatory compliance monitoring
  • Strong ability to use Terraform, Docker, Shell Scripting, and DevOps for testing, packaging, and deploying code
  • Proficiency with the GitHub stack, including Issues, Actions, Environments, and Security
  • Experience with Kubernetes environment and configuration best practices
  • Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, R, C++, or other object-oriented programming languages
  • Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and other relational and non-relational databases
  • Familiarity with message queuing and streaming systems like SQS, RabbitMQ, and Kafka
  • Knowledge of RESTful web services and experience building web applications
  • Experience with OAuth, OIDC, and implementing security methods
  • Ability to work well cross-functionally and partner closely with bioinformatics, product development and customer support
